A Message from Our Founder

  1. 1.  The Classroom & The Streets

  2. Before I was a founder, I was the kid whose parents got called to the principal’s office every single week. I was notoriously mischievous, full of restless energy, and constantly getting into trouble.

Karma, as they say, has a sense of humor. Years later, that same trouble-making kid ended up standing at the front of the classroom as a teacher in some of the most prominent schools across Delhi and Ghaziabad. Teaching taught me patience and how to read people, but deep down, a childhood dream I had carried through every alley of Old Delhi was still waiting for its moment.

I stepped away from the blackboard and back into the streets that raised me.

  3. 2.  Raised in the Heart of Purani Dilli

  4. Old Delhi isn’t just a place I visited-it is my DNA.

My story was written across its streets:
Chawri Bazar: I went to primary school here, surrounded by the clang of copper, brass, and the paper smells of Asia's largest paper and wedding invitation hub.

Daryaganj: I did my schooling right in the literary nerve center of India, where all the historic publishing giants built their legacies.

Nai Sarak: My daily tuition route ran right through the bustling cut-piece fabric markets.

Khari Baoli: Grocery shopping wasn't a supermarket trip; it meant walking through the sharp, heavy air of the largest spice market in Asia.

Lal Kuan: My uncle’s office sat in the middle of this massive wholesale market, famous for kitchenware, hardware, and traditional kite-makers.

Lajpat Rai Market: Every Tuesday, my walk to the mandir took me straight through Asia’s electronic and hardware juggernaut.

Dariba Kalan: My best friend lived right next door to one of Asia’s largest gold-trading and jewelry hubs.

  5. 3.  The Question That Started It All

  6. Growing up, I saw billions of rupees in trade pass through these narrow lanes every single day. I saw Asia's largest hubs for spices, fabrics, brass, gold, paper, and hardware right next to my front door.

Every market had industry giants, master craftsmen, and massive trade empires. But there was not a single global consumer brand carrying our name to the world.

I kept asking myself: We have the materials, the heritage, the craftsmanship, and the raw grit. Where are we lacking? Why are foreign houses taking our textiles and trade elements, putting a Western label on them, and selling them back to us for lakhs?

  7. 4.  Karavi India: Taking Purani Dilli Global

  8. I launched Karavi India to answer that question.

We take the timeless, structured luxury bag silhouettes that people across the world love and carry—and blend them unapologetically with the raw soul of Old Delhi. We take upcycled spice burlap from Khari Baoli, hand-dyed indigo from Katra Neel, and royal zardozi from Kinari Bazaar, locking them together with our signature Old Delhi brass vault hardware.

This isn't an imitation of the West. This is an Indian street-luxury house born in the alleys of Daryaganj, Chawri Bazar, and Nai Sarak, built to stand tall in Paris, Tokyo, London, and New York.

I know every corner, every artisan, and every story of these streets. Now, it’s time the world carried our story.
